The Effect of Repentance Upon a Believer - Paul Carrington
What are the effects of repentance upon the believer?
Paul Carrington explains in this video that when a person is truly repentant, their heart is turned to the Word of God. They want to hear what the preacher has to say because they want the Word of God to guide them. They desire more of God.
A repentant person is not concerned about their own reputation but they want to learn more about Christ and see Christ as so valuable. Their view of worship is changed. A repentant person wants to worship God, sees Christ as so valuable, and acknowledges that there is nothing better than to know God, to walk in His ways, and to be pleasing in His sight.
Romans 6:4 (NKJV) – “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Paul Carrington is a member of Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC. He has been married to his wife Melinda for 20 years, and they have six children. Previously, Paul has served as a missionary in Kenya and the Dominican Republic. Currently, he works as an executive for a cloud computing company.
